The chemical applied to the rough areas on the silverburn course has eliminated the rye and Yorkshire fog grasses. As can be seen in the pictures the brown areas have died back. We will rake these areas now to remove the dead material and then re seed with fescue. There are some weeds left that will be removed before seeding takes place.

Rough thinning
We have started to thin some areas of rough with the terra rake. This will remove more thatch and dead material from the base of the turf as shown in the picture. This rake allows us to do this type of work without having to cut the wispy grass.

Dry patch update
Recovery from the dry patch/ thatch fungus problem we had on the 13th green is now almost complete. The wetting agent and fungicide treatment to control the thatch fungus has cured the problem areas. Wetting agent has since been applied to maintain even moisture levels across the whole green.
